Nike's knack for reviving retro silhouettes is again in the spotlight with the return of the Nike LD-1000, a groundbreaking long-distance running shoe from 1977. Despite its initial recall due to safety concerns, the LD-1000 announced its return during the brand’s recent SNKRS Live showcase, which also revealed the return of the Air Peg 2K5. Alongside the planned GR colorways, the silhouette’s return will include a special edition from Nike's longstanding collaborator, Stussy.
The Stussy x Nike LD-1000 SP Action Green reinterprets the vintage runner with a bold and contemporary design. The collaboration introduces a striking action green hue that dominates the sandwich mesh upper and the suede panels on the toe, vamp, and eyestays. This vibrant color choice is balanced with contrasting black accents on the Swoosh, heel tab, and sockliner, adding a dynamic visual appeal to the sneaker. The design is further enhanced with a crisp white tongue and an action green lace set, creating a striking color contrast that is both eye-catching and memorable.
Stussy's unmistakable branding makes a statement on the heel, stamped in a matching action green shade. At the same time, Nike's tongue tag is thoughtfully redesigned, featuring the iconic statement about their dedication to crafting shoes for champion athletes. Completing the look is a sail-colored foam midsole, providing a subtle nod to the sneaker's vintage roots. This midsole is paired with a black waffle traction pattern on the rubber outsole, ensuring style and functionality are at the forefront of this exciting release.
The Stussy x Nike LD-1000 SP Action Green will release in Fall 2024 through Nike, Stussy, and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $110. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app for the latest updates on this release and more.
