Don’t get it twisted, Steph Curry’s extra attention on his sneakers isn’t taking anything away from his game on the court. Now, as for the Warriors' ability to back up their once-in-a-generation point guard? Well, that’s a different, sadder story. In his second game back from injury, Curry logged 48 points, 12 threes, and 3 pairs of shoes on the night, all in a losing effort against the 10-16 Portland Blazers.
Entering the arena, Steph wore a red and white pair of Nike Air Max Rise Brandon Roy PEs that the former Portland point guard wore when he played against Steph in Curry’s rookie season. Next, Steph hit the court for warm-ups in the shoes of a GOAT, lacing up the yellow Sunshine colorway of the Nike A’One, showing love to A’ja Wilson. The A’Ones are the second WNBA signature shoe Steph has worn during his free agency, following a pair of Nike Sabrina 3s last month.
For game time, Steph switched up the kicks again but kept the yellow theme going, breaking out a pair of Nike Kobe 4 Protro CHBL, a colorway inspired by the China High School Basketball League that dropped earlier this year as a China exclusive. This is the second time Steph has rocked a pair of Kobe’s since departing Under Armour, after kicking off his sneaker free agency in a pair of Mambacita Kobe 6 Protros.
The Warriors head to Phoenix this week to take on Devin Booker and the Suns, and you already know we’ll be looking at what Steph is wearing on foot, into the arena, during shoot around, and of course during the game.
