The Steven Smith designed New Balance 550 was pulled from the vault last year and took the sneaker world by storm through its collaborative efforts with Aime Leon Dore. Since then, a string of GR releases and fast-approaching collabs have fueled the fire on the 550. With JoeFreshGoods recently revealing his “Conversations Amongst Us” colorway on the 80s basketball silhouette, UK-based retailer size? has a three-pack of Cordura-covered New Balance 550s releasing very soon.
As previously mentioned, the usual leather construction on the 550 is taken over by the durable and waterproof Cordura suede and mesh material. Earth tone shades cover the three-pack, coming in brown, grey, and cream. Though your standard NB branding remains on the tongue and eyelet, the insole comes with a stitched size? tag. The silhouette boasts its Cordura material through a branded tag near the collar. Underfoot, the outdoor look is completed by the black midsole and outsole on the brown shaded pairs while the grey comes with an accenting tan midsole and outsole combo.
The size? x New Balance 550 Collection is scheduled to release on April 7th, 2022, exclusively through a raffle on the size? app. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at £110 (approx $143 USD).
