Milwaukee is a jungle, but the city’s sneaker mayor, Eric “Shake” James, is cutting a fresh path through the trees for the fall with a little help from adidas. After getting the nickname Squid for its takedown approach to Pharrell’s adidas Adistar Jellyfish, the XLG 2.0 is getting another animorph from Shake and Wisconsin’s finest.

Mandrill vs. Python

The Shake x adidas XLG 2.0 Wild Rivals Pack was previewed at ComplexCon over the weekend and then in a new glow-in-the-dark preview video posted to social media early Monday morning. The jungle-themed pack adds a blue, yellow, and red-nosed baboon (mandrill, technically) colorway with a yellow snakeskin python pair.

In the glow-in-the-dark preview, the pairs glow in blue and neon yellow/green, pitting the two-pack as rivals in nature’s eternal survival-of-the-fittest struggle. The snakeskin pair features black and tan details across the upper, while the mandrill colorway adds shaggy fur to the red sections, sleek blue on the side panels, and yellow on the midsole.
