City governments and publicity departments are starting to see the value in sneakers. Sure, it took them long enough, but after Philadelphia partnered with Vans for a downtown skate plaza, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is getting in on the hype with the help of local boutique owner Shake James and adidas to support the city’s annual downtown Summerfest with some exclusive colorways.
The adidas Forum Low CL What the Milwaukee takes after Nike’s famed What The series, combining a bright mix of colors on one asymmetric pair. On the right tongue, a Visit Milwaukee graphic shouts out the city’s tourism invite, and on the left, a Summerfest smiley face logo reps the four-weekend-long festival headlined by Garth Brooks, Don Toliver, Ed Sheeran, and more.
Clicks Kicks Reps Milwaukee Hard
Clicks Kicks and Sneex owner Eric “Shake” James hasn't given us a breakdown about what each panel represents just yet, but that makes sense because they haven’t even given us a full look at all of the panels yet. Earlier this year Clicks dropped a pair of Sambas for 414 Day (Milwaukee’s area code) covered in an all-over print map of the city, so expect some deep Milwaukee references.
