We’re only two weeks removed from WrestleMania 42, and while this year’s event was nowhere near as well-received, Roman Reigns did make a promise after the show to appear more frequently in WWE programming. Prior to the main event on night two, Jordan Brand’s VP of entertainment marketing, Reggie Saunders, gifted Reigns a pair of the upcoming Air Jordan 12 Retro Bloodline. The Tribal Chief took the ring in custom wrestling boots, but he saved the debut of the AJ 12s in the ring for last night’s Monday Night Raw.
In his promo, Reigns told the crowd that he was helping elevate the World Heavyweight belt, but before he could finish gloating, his cousin Jacob Fatu entered the ring. Last week, The Samoan Werewolf asked for a title shot at Backlash, the next WWE PLE, and Roman told him that he would allow Fatu one week to think about his choice. But before Roman and Fatu could finish their back-and-forth on the mic, Jacob attacked Reigns. The two are set to face off at Backlash in Tampa on May 9.
All this happened with Roman rocking the Air Jordan 12 Retro Bloodline. The pair is technically not an official collaboration with Roman Reigns, WWE, or his Bloodline faction, but with Jordan Brand gifting him the pair early and the black/red color palette aligning with Reigns’ look, it’s clear Jordan is giving him an unofficial nod. The Bloodline theme has been used before Roman’s faction was founded, as in 2019, Jordan Brand dropped the Air Jordan 1 Bloodline as an homage to the classic black and red colors used on iconic Jordans of the past. More recently, Luka Doncic’s signature sneakers received a Bloodline look.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens next week between Reigns and his cousin Fatu, but those interested in the Air Jordan 12 Retro Bloodline don’t have to wait long. The pair is expected to release in May 2026.
