On Debuts a New Marathon Monster, the Cloudboom Strike 2

If you haven’t noticed, the running industry is booming. Beyond just an annual increase in jogging for the summer months, run clubs and Strava scores have replaced golf and pickleball in the cool guy sporting repertoire, and we’ve got plenty of sneakers to prove it. But while some sneaker brands and collaborators feel like they’re struggling to keep pace, the folks at On are true to it, not new to it.

Booming Through Marathon Miles

The On Cloudboom Strike 2 is the latest long-distance racing silhouette from the Swiss sneaker brand, bringing a sequel to its popular Cloudboom marathon shoe line. Arriving in a traditional makeup and a LightSpray version, the Cloudboom Strike 2 is constructed with CloudTec sphere cushioning and a brand new Helion HF midsole, with a curved carbon Speedboard for stabilization.

“The results we’ve already seen from athletes competing in the LightSpray Cloudboom Strike 2 reinforce On’s position at the forefront of elite road racing innovation,” says Nils Arne Altrogge, Senior Director of Innovation at On. “Our brief for the Cloudboom Strike 2 was not just about maximising speed, but sustaining it as athletes approach the crucial closing stages of a marathon.”

On Cloudboom Strike 2 Release Details

The On Cloudboom Strike 2 and Cloudboom Strike 2 LightSpray will be released July 30, 2026, through On and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail prices are set at $250 for the Cloudboom Strike 2 and $310 for the LightSpray Cloudboom Strike 2.
