Nike is Dropping Two New Vaporposite Pro Cleats for Fall 2026

You might not think so at first but the crossover of basketball shoes on the football field goes back decades. The NFL (thankfully) no longer uses Astroturf, but when a chunk of stadiums chose the artificial surface, some players decided to wear Jordans and basketball shoes on the field. Nowadays, there are official hybrid cleats that bring retro Jordans and Nike Basketball products like the Jordan 4 and Dunk to the gridiron. The most recent model to get the cleat treatment is the Foamposite Pro, which is ready for Sunday matchups as the Vaporposite Pro. Sole Retriever can confirm that Nike will be dropping new colorways in 2026.
Dropping in the same season as the upcoming NCAA Foamposite Pro pack, these two Vaporposite Pros will be perfect for College Gameday. One pair opts for a Game Royal finish, while the other takes on University Red hues. As of now, there are no photos of the actual sneaker, but we’ve created speculative mock-ups based on the color code. Both pairs will likely feature their titular hue on the Foamposite portions of the upper, while sticking to black shades for the nubuck overlay and knit collar. Pops of white may appear on the lace set, Swoosh, and on the cleated sole unit below.
For now, the only other colorway of the Vaporposite confirmed to be released is the Pearl, which launches in 2025 to coincide with the return of the Nike Foamposite Pro Pearl. There was also an Oregon Ducks-exclusive Mummy Duck colorway that went alongside a standard Foamposite Pro for the Ducks. Hopefully Nike preps more colorways of the model as it’s sure to be a hit across the NFL, NCAA, and youth circuits.
The Nike Vaporposite Pro in Game Royal and University Red will be released Fall 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $210.
