Nike’s Latest Ekiden Running Pack Kicks Off with a Lime Green Vaporfly 4

Nike Running cannot lose lately. Beaverton is winning the sole stack arms race with the Vomero Premium, dropping hit colorway after hit colorway in new models like the Pegasus Premium, and building cohesive packs with compelling stories bridging cultural gaps and historic eras. The latest Nike running collection is ready to keep the hot streak going, continuing the brand’s storied Ekiden line in bright green.
Ekiden, originally a word for the Japanese stagecoach courier system, evolved into a long-distance relay race in the early 20th century and has since become a sporting tradition across the country. Nike has celebrated the Japanese tradition since 1995, releasing Ekiden-themed running packs based around the event. This year, the Ekiden pack kicks off with a Vaporfly 4 in bright green and black. The Vaporfly’s mesh upper is drenched in neon green with swooping black and silver graphics traversing the entire shoe. The massive ZoomX sole is black in the forefoot and white in the heel with a hit of green gradient in the middle.
The upcoming Nike Ekiden pack also includes a Vomero Plus, Alphafly 3, and Zoom Rival Fly 4, all in some variation of volt, black, and metallic silver. The vision behind the unifying colorway is still unclear, but Nike has called out its archival inspiration in previous Ekiden packs, so we wouldn’t be surprised if a full backstory comes out when pictures of the other models finally surface.
The Nike Vaporfly 4 Ekiden and the rest of the collection will be released Holiday 2025 through select Nike retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $280 for the Vaporfly, $190 for the Vomero Plus, $305 for the Alphafly 3, and $105 for the Zoom Rival Fly 4.
