It felt like the whole world popped out to Vegas over the weekend to watch the world’s fastest cars do laps around Sin City. Amongst the rich, famous, and powerful, pro BMX biker Nigel Sylvester joined the mix, watching from inside the pit and hanging out with billionaire Michael Rubin, so you know he had to show up in something exclusive.
Sylvester used the F1 spotlight to debut 1 of 50 seeded friends & family exclusive black colorway of the new Air Jordan 3 Retro Playground. Paying tribute to the OG Jordan poster that showed Mike dunking on a playground in front of a graffiti-covered brick wall, the new 3s take the tagged-up wall from the poster and transfer it to the upper of the shoe. On Sylvester’s black pair, the lace panel, tongue, heel collar, and bottom third of the upper are done in black to match the midsole.
We first got a look at the Air Jordan 3 Playground in a white colorway when Atlanta Hawks guard and Jordan athlete Trae Young was seen stepping off the team plane in the pair. The white version of the shoes were spotted again over the weekend on New Orleans Saints star Cam Jordan, but Nigel’s pair is the first time we’ve seen the design in black.

It’s looking like both colorways of the Air Jordan 3 Retro Playground will be exclusives for Jordan athletes and brand family, with only 50 pairs of each colorway seeded, so don’t get your hopes up about owning a pair unless you’re Boon Tan.
