Trae Young Stepped Off the Hawks Team Plane in a Never Before Seen Air Jordan 3

The 2018 NBA draft will always be a “what if” moment for Atlanta Hawks fans. A first-round blockbuster trade that night sent Dallas' number 5 pick, Trae Young, to Atlanta in exchange for the Hawks’ number 2 pick, Luka Doncic. The two stars will forever be linked, despite significantly more success for Doncic. Beyond the stats, both Doncic and Young are sponsored by Jordan Brand, with Luka on his fourth signature shoe, and Young, who left adidas after three signature shoes, is still in a holding pattern with Jumpman, but a new colorway debut from Ice Trae is certainly a good sign.

Stuck on the injury list with an MCL injury, Trae is still travelling with the team, and stepped off the Hawks’ plane in LA this week wearing a never-before-seen Jordan 3 colorway. The new 3s start with a neutral blended base mixing shades of grey and khaki tan, drawing all the focus to the upper portion of the shoe.

The top half of the shoe is done in a graffiti-style pattern reminiscent of the Air Jordan Playground tee-shirt and poster print that showed Mike dunking in front of a spray-painted wall. We can’t make out the exact details on the pair Trae was wearing, but the color and graphic details on the upper are definitely familiar.

There’s no word on a release date or even a clear picture of the new Air Jordan Retro 3 that Trae broke out, but those are the perks of being a Jordan athlete. As for info on the potential for a Trae Young signature shoe under the Jumpman label, well, you’ll still have to wait on that, too.
