Trae Young Just Teased the Air Jordan 40
Published
Michael Jordan’s legacy in the sneaker world dates back to 1985 when the fresh-faced Chicago Bulls rookie laced up his Air Jordan 1 sneaker, forever changing performance basketball sneakers and the world of fashion. Forty years later, and we’re still getting new Air Jordan models for on-court wear, even if most sneakerheads are only checking out the latest retro releases.
Sole Retriever previously announced that the Air Jordan 40 would debut in the Fall 2025 season, and with this fast approaching, we’re getting our first teaser courtesy of Jordan Brand athlete Trae Young.
While you may remember Trae Young as an adidas athlete, and one with a signature sneaker line, he left The Three Stripes late last year and signed with Jordan Brand during the 2024-2025 NBA campaign. Young laced up the Air Jordan 39 throughout the season, but during the offseason, he’s been rocking the upcoming Air Jordan 40.

In one of his latest Instagram posts, Young intentionally pixelated images of his sneakers during a session, leading many to believe that this is Trae providing a teaser for the AJ 40. Sole Retriever also confirmed with Jordan Brand that Trae has been wearing the sneaker.
As stated previously, the Air Jordan 40 will debut Fall 2025 (July-September in Nike/Jordan Brand’s internal season). While we wait for an official reveal from Jordan Brand, check the images of Trae Young below, and download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
