The New Balance 550 has become a staple for the brand since its revival in 2020. The model is an ideal canvas for general release colorways and collaborations, with Aimé Leon Dore having kickstarted the craze as part of its deeper relationship with New Balance. Several new colorways have quickly emerged for the 550, now including a White Teal Aqua version.
A cool color palette appears selectively throughout the 550, calling to mind bodies of water. The base is constructed out of smooth white leather and a matching thin mesh, while a perforated white leather overlay stretches from the heel to toe box. The outline of the overlay and the N logo are enhanced with a deep navy blue, a color that repeats on the tumbled leather ankle hit and heel clip. The heel is also wrapped with a suede grey panel and stamped with a teal NB motion logo. A white midsole then sits above a grey outsole bookended by teal at the toe and heel.
The New Balance 550 White Teal Aqua is expected to release this year through New Balance and select retailers, online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
