When it comes to high fashion drenched in black and influenced by motorcycle culture, Japanese designers NEIGHBORHOOD and Yohji Yamamoto are clear standouts. In a new collaboration, the two brands bring together their Japanese heritage and motorcycle obsession on a new collection from Y-3, Yamamoto’s adidas sublabel, including a mash-up of two iconic adidas silhouettes into a brand new model.
Part of a Fall/Winter 2025 collaborative collection that includes moto-themed graphic jackets, pants, shirts, and more, the Y-3 NBHD Nizzastar Lo is the only sneaker from the partnership, bringing a Superstar shell toe to the adidas Nizza silhouette for a familiar yet unique design. So far, we’ve only seen editorial shots of the shoe on foot, but in classic Y-3 and NEIGHBORHOOD fashion, the shoe is a black-on-black shadow with the only contrast coming from white stitching across the midsole and side panel. Taking a classic Nizza silhouette with soft suede panels, the shell toe adds an abrupt aesthetic shift at the toe, perfect for kick-starting a fast bike.

NEIGHBORHOOD has been one of the most instrumental Japanese fashion brands for decades now, mixing high fashion and streetwear for frequent collabs with Vans and adidas, including triple-partnerships with the likes of CLOT on a pair of abbreviated shell-toe Superstars from 2023. That Superstar infatuation continued with two collab pairs in 2024, so the new interpretation with Y-3 serves as another interpretation of the classic sneaker for the NEIGHBORHOOD archives.
The Y-3 NEIGHBORHOOD Collection will be released October 25, 2025 through Y-3 and select retailers in-store and online. There are no details about the sizing and price of the Y-3 NBHD Nizzastar Lo yet, but if you keep it locked to the Sole Retriever mobile app, you’ll find out the info as soon as we do.
