The World Cup may have come to a close, but the beautiful game is forever. Nike is keeping up with their efforts to bring more kicks from the pitch to the pavement with their Nike Cryoshot efforts, which encase the spikes of their most iconic football boots in a translucent midsole. Though the US Men’s team didn’t bring it home, the Nike Cryoshot M9 OG adds another colorway celebrating one of the greats that did in Mia Hamm. Following the clean white colorway of her signature boot released in collaboration with the Virgil Abloh Archives, a part of the X2 collection, a colorway more akin to the pair she wore during her heroic run during the 1999 World Cup is on the way.
Nike Cryoshot M9 OG Details
The silhouette features a quilted black synthetic upper enhanced by a glossy sheen. A carbon fiber-esque accent hits the side panels, helping to frame the white ZOOM AIR-branded heel counter. Additional white details show up on the Swooshes on the lateral side and the tongue. A subtle dash of red on the encased spikes found in the midsole, the flaming Mia Hamm logo on the heel, and the mini Swoosh on the medial side add a slight pop to the low-profile colorway. The namesake translucent outsole completes the archival look.
