Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 1890 Music Video Pack

When Joe Freshgoods puts his stamp on a New Balance silhouette, everyone tunes in. The man who played a pivotal role in NB gaining ground in sneaker culture recently previewed his take on the New Balance 1890, one of the latest models to come from the Boston-based brand, and we finally have drop info.

JFG’s New Balance 1890 pack takes inspiration from the hip-hop music videos of the late ‘90s and early 2000s. Think of the work Hype Williams was putting out with Busta Rhymes, Ja Rule, Missy Elliot, and more. It’s quite clear when you take a look at the packaging, which has a “fish eye lens” look to it, allowing you to look into the box and see the sneaker itself.

Speaking of the shoes, one pair, dubbed Finger Waves, opts for a black and orange mixture on the mesh base, with black and silver fused TPU overlays throughout. The second pair also uses black as a base, but swaps out the bright orange for a purple shade. Overlays on this Naughty Things colorway are done in a purple-to-black gradient. Both pairs feature new JFG logos on the heel and custom Joe Freshgoods and NB 1890 tags on the insole and tongue.

The raffle for the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 1890 Music Video Pack is live right now on JFG’s website. The EQL raffle will close on April 23, with winners selected shortly after. A wider release for the Naughty Things pair is expected on April 30, so expect the Finger Waves pair to remain exclusive to Joe Freshgoods’ site. Both pairs will retail for $200.
