Jalen Hurts Had ”Jawn Air” Written on his Air Jordan 11s During Eagles Win
Quick Facts
- Jalen Hurts rushed for over 50 yards, and did it all in a pair of Jordan 11 PE cleats
- Jordan replaced the typical Jumpman branding on the mid-tongue with “Jawn Air"
- Former Jordan designer Kelsey Amy helped create the logo during her days with Jordan Brand

Jalen Hurts did it again. With only 130 yards through the air, the Eagles QB kept the Super Bowl champs out of the loss column in a match-up of undefeated teams heading into week 4. As is typical, Hurts rushed for over 50 yards, and did it all in a pair of Jordan 11 PE cleats, this time stepping into Tampa Bay with some Philly slang on his shoes.
Breaking out a pair of all-white patent leather PE 11s with a black Jumpman logo on the ankle for the Buccaneers game, Jordan replaced the typical Jumpman branding on the mid-tongue with “Jawn Air.” It’s also not the first time that Hurts has taken the field in special Air Jordan 11s, as earlier in the season, he debuted a new Love, Hurts AJ 11. Last year, he was fined $5,628 for wearing mismatched cleats during his week 15 matchup against the Steelers. Jordan Brand of course, paid the tab, drawing comparisons to Michael Jordan’s banned sneakers in 1985.
For those unfamiliar, jawn is a Philly slang term used to replace any and every noun. It can be confusing at first and takes a little context to understand, but hang out in the City of Brotherly Love for a little bit and you’ll pick it up quick, we promise.
As for the origins of the Jawn Air branding in Beaverton, former Jordan designer and die-hard Eagles fan Kelsey Amy saw the pair and took to social media to take a little well-deserved credit for coming up with the term, posting a photo of a “Jawn Air” keychain from her days with The Swoosh.
