Coco Gauff Wins the 2025 French Open Wearing Her New Balance Coco CG2 Sneaker
Published
While we knew how great Coco Gauff was heading into the 2025 French Open, she proved her ability again with her first-ever win at the event and her second career Grand Slam. Helping her achieve this victory was her pair of New Balance tennis sneakers, the Coco CG2, which she wore throughout the 2025 French Open.
Pictured here is the Grey Days colorway that was released to coincide with New Balance’s Grey Days event in May, a month-long celebration of New Balance’s history with the color grey. Coco rocked this during the event and during her final match against the number 1 ranked woman in tennis, Aryna Sabalenka. Gauff won the three-set battle 6–7 (5), 6–2, 6–4.
“This means so much to be here, in this final. Thank you to Aryna, every time we play it is such a tough match. My family is the reason I do this, and my brothers always push me to be the best,” said Coco Gauff. “I am so grateful for the French crowd, thank you for always supporting me! Paris is one of my favorite cities in the world and I am so happy to win this Grand Slam!"
“For Coco to win in her favorite city, wearing her very own signature shoe, with the world watching, is something young athletes all over the world dream about,” said Chris Davis, Global Brand President & Chief Marketing Officer at New Balance. “New Balance is so proud of our seven-year partnership with Coco and the Gauff family. She is 21 years old and just getting started.”
The New Balance Coco CG2 Grey Days is available on New Balance’s website. Looking ahead, Coco will be dropping a collaboration with Miu Miu and New Balance on the viral Miu Miu x New Balance 530 later in September. Recently, Coco also released a Coco CG2 and Coco Delray inspired by Wimbledon.
