Caitlin Clark Gets Gifted Nike Phantom 6 Cleats by Alexia Putellas

Before Caitlin Clark was the face of the WNBA and women’s basketball in general, the sharp-shooting Indiana Fever guard was a multi-sport athlete with some skills on the soccer pitch. Now, with the WNBA stuck in the middle of union negotiations with no resolution in sight, Clark is kicking around the idea of some extra-curricular activities, with help from Spanish soccer star Alexia Putellas.

As the soccer world prepares for the World Cup, the star midfielder is connecting women’s sports stars across the globe, sending a pair of Nike Phantom 6 Low Elite cleats to Clark along with a heartfelt note about the inspiration and dedication that carry Clark’s game. In response, Clark posted to cleats and the note to Instagram, adding “I’m coming out of retirement” with a smirking emoji.

The red, white, and purple cleats are ready for play at the highest level, and considering Caitlin’s hand-eye coordination on the basketball court, we wouldn’t be surprised if she were ready to put on an FC Barcelona jersey and join Putellas on the pitch next year.
