While the German sportswear giant adidas may be going through a difficult time with Ye and his Yeezy brand, they are still finding other partners to collaborate with on their own inline releases. One of these partners, Disney, has lent many of their iconic characters and IPs to The Three Stripes, recently releasing various Superstar colorways that featured the likes of Kermit The Frog, Moana, and Dr. Doom. Now, yet another Marvel character is getting the sneaker treatment as Black Panther, on the heels of the franchises second movie, is getting a capsule collection with The Three Stripes is expanding to include the adidas Ultra 4D.
Coming in the same color palette as the Black Panther x Mahomes 1 Impact FLX, this Ultra 4D utilizes the typical Primeknit upper with added details nodding to Black Panthers suit found throughout. Placed on the purple and black toebox are a set of diamond-shaped overlays that mimic those found on the suit of Chadwick Boseman’s character while the golden Three Stripes-branded cage gets a linear pattern following this same theme. More branding details found on the top of the tongue and on the co-branded Black Panther and adidas insole continue to come in gold while the grey plastic heel counter keeps things monochromatic with its “Ultra4D” text. Underfoot, a black 4D midsole gets paired with a purple Continental rubber outsole. Rounding out the entire collaboration is special co-branded packaging that follows in line with the regal color scheme of purple and gold.
The Black Panther x adidas Ultra 4D was originally set to release on September 30th, 2022. After a small delay, it will now drop on November 4th, through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $220.
