Disney is certainly no stranger when it comes to collaborations with adidas. It seems that every year, the California-based media conglomerate teams up with the Herzogenaurach sportswear giant for a collection that's inspired by our favorite animated movies and TV shows, and for 2022, they're continuing with the Disney x adidas Stan Smith "Moana." Inspired by the 2016 film that tells the story of Moana, the strong-willed daughter of a chief of a Polynesian village.
Crafted from canvas, the first thing that you'll notice about this Stan Smith are the tribal tattoos that cover the entirety of the upper. This is a nod to Maui, who is a legendary demigod in the animated feature. While the right tongue is decorated with a portrait of Stan Smith, the left one arrives with an illustration of Moana. More graphics of our heroic protagonist can also be found on the insoles, where she's seen embracing her pet pig, Pua, alongside her pet rooster, Heihei. This is then finished off with an off white rubber midsole which rounds everything off perfectly.
The Disney x adidas Stan Smith Moana is set to release in 2022. You'll be able to find these at adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $130.
