Legacy Japanese sneaker boutique atmos has spent 2025 collaborating on a handful of high-profile brand collabs with adidas, New Balance, Crocs, and even Nike, with a Harajuku Air Max 95 expected sometime next year. But since the retailer shuttered its US locations in New York and Philly, the Tokyo-based brand has slid under the radar. The latest atmos collab connects with fellow Japanese brand, Asics, for an iceberg-inspired Gel-NYC.
Based on the idea that only a sliver of an iceberg actually sticks out above the water, the atmos x Asics Gel-NYC is a mix of white mesh, silver support panels, and icy blue light suede on the upper with gradient tones of more blue on the heel and midsole The shoe brings the theme to life with a photo of an iceberg submerged in water split between the two insoles.

The Gel-NYC had a huge 2024, featured in collabs with brands like Pleasures and Billy’s ENT, and anime like Naruto and Bleach. This year, though, the shoe has taken a backseat to a slew of Asics Sportstyle models like the Gel-Kayano 14.
The atmos x Asics Gel-NYC Iceberg was previewed in an Instagram post by atmos Creative Director Hirofumi Kojima, but besides the pictures and name of the shoe, no release info or pricing details are available just yet.
