Looking back at the history of Nike and Jordan Brand, collegiate athletics have played a significant role in the brand's success. Specifically for Nike, Georgetown has been a special case as the school received a silhouette specifically crafted for the basketball team (the Nike Terminator) and has continued to receive unique PE colorways on various models under The Swoosh’s umbrella. Georgetown's version of the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG has just been spotted like the slew of schools (UCLA, UNC, Howard, Marquette, and Oklahoma) that recently received their own PE colorway on the model.
Taking on the same construction of cracked leather, smooth leather, and pebbled leather across its upper, Georgetown’s version of the AJ 1 Retro Low OG features the school's iconic grey and navy color scheme. Grey cracked leather takes over the mudguard, eyestays, and heel, while sail hues appear on the toebox, tongue, and quarter panel. Branding details, spotted on the pebbled leather Nike Swoosh, mini Swoosh embroidery, and Nike Air tag, all come in navy shades, while the Jordan Wings logo on the heel gets stamped on in white. Directly nodding to the school, we see Georgetown’s “G” logo on the insole with more navy and grey shades surrounding it. Finishing the design is the sail AJ 1 midsole paired with a gum rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Georgetown PE will remain exclusive to athletes and team members of the Georgetown Hoyas.
