ALD Adds Creamy Off-White Suede and Knit Paneling to the New Balance Gator Run

Some collabs feel like a one-off flash in the pan, but for some brands, sneaker partnerships are more like a marriage, built for the long run. For New Balance, the fit at Aimé Leon Dore may as well be matrimony, with the NYC clothing label’s founder, Teddy Santis, serving as Creative Director of New Balance Made in USA.

The latest Aimé Leon Dore New Balance collab is ALD’s first take on the new retro runner silhouette, the Gator Run. Starting with a coat of hairy suede on the toe and heel and a premium knit mesh on the rest of the upper, the entire colorway shares the same off-white Cream color. More off-white is added to the tongue and laces, while black brings contrast to the outsole.

The ALD x New Balance co-branding on the tongue of the new Gator Run is just the latest in a long run of collabs. Covering everything from classics like 1300s and 991s to new models like this pair and the RC56, Santis and ALD consistently bring the best out of New Balance.
