If anyone has the power to bring New Balance back in time for a quick trip down memory lane, it’s New Balance Made in USA Creative Director and Aimé Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis. Santis took to IG over the weekend to preview two New Balance 991 collabs, marking the first time we’ve seen the OG 2001 version of the 991 since the 991v2 debuted in 2023.
Teddy previewed the two pairs of ALD x New Balance 991 in one photo alongside a quarter-zip knit ALD x NB turtleneck that perfectly matches the red accents on both shoes. The first colorway is a light olive and grey mix, with khaki green suede on the toe, side, and heel panels, steel grey mesh, and crisp red overlays on the structural supports. The midsole is a two-tone split, with a white base and dark grey cutting in halfway through.

The second colorway is a pair we’ve already seen in the ALD Fall/Winter 2025 lookbook, combining rich brown suede with creamy off-white mesh and the same shade of red on the structural overlays. While Teddy has had his hands deep in New Balance’s Made in USA program, both of these ALD pairs come from the brand’s Made in UK line from across the pond.
So far, we don’t have any firm release details or pricing info on the two upcoming pairs of ALD x New Balance 991s, but with Teddy posting the pairs so clearly, we’re expecting more updates soon. To stay tapped in on all the latest New Balance collab news, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
