Catch ‘Em All: adidas is Dropping a Pokémon Collection in 2026 for 30th Anniversary

The Pokémon craze that started in 1996 has never let up, as the Japanese franchise, spanning trading cards, video games, TV shows, and movies, continues to be a cultural heavyweight. When it comes to their footwear output, Pokémon has ventured across the industry, working with Crocs, Clarks, Puma, and Converse in recent years. For 2026, the franchise will be partnering with adidas for the first time since their 2020 clothing capsule, though this time it will feature multiple sneaker collabs to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
So far, Sole Retriever can confirm that there are five different sneakers coming as part of the Pokémon x adidas collection. This includes four colorways of the adidas Superstar and one of the Samba OG, each themed after a specific Pokémon. Two of the four Superstars are done in colors to honor the most recognizable character from the franchise, Pikachu, while the other two also feature well-known characters, Charmeleon and Charmander. The color palette mimics the look of each Pokémon and contains portraits of the respective character on the tongue tag and heel. Charmander’s pair even features the Three Stripes on fire.
As for the Samba OG, that’s reserved for one of the strongest Pokémon in the original 151, Mewtwo. The lavender appearance of Mewtwo is directly applied to the ‘50s soccer shoe, with Mewtwo’s portrait found on the tongue tag and a Psystrike energy attack represented on the hangtag.
The Pokémon x adidas 30th Anniversary Collection will be released in September 2026 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. The Superstars and Samba will each retail for $110.
