adidas Yeezy 500 Shoes

First released in December 2017 as a pre-order, the $200 adidas Yeezy 500 was met with little fan fair. The quintessential dad shoe, the adidas Yeezy 500 did start to catch on as the color offering expanded and the chunky shoe trend picked up steam.

Removing the coveted BOOST cushioning system for the first time on a Yeezy sneaker, the 500 borrows from an old-school adidas Kobe sneaker while utilizing a mixture of premium suede, nubuck, mesh, and leather. After 2 years of low-top designs, the sneaker rose up and was released in a High variant that switches the usual mesh base for neoprene.

Even though the use of older technology and more contemporary design strays from the typical Yeezy model, the 500 and its high-top cousin are still one of the most recognizable Yeezy silhouettes.
