Vans is keeping the artistic energy up. Whether it's the art of skateboarding transcribed into colorways from the Vans skate team or memories of Ibizan nights on pairs from the OTW line, Southern California’s OG skate shoe brand is doing its best to bring off-the-wall energy to the sneaker market. On its latest classic silhouette tattered by a collaborator, Vans travels to Tokyo to link with artist and designer GUCCIMAZE.
Tokyo Nightlife in Neon Green
The GUCCIMAZE x Vans Premium Authentic 44 DL starts with a standard black canvas Authentic look, but adds purposeful rips across the upper, revealing a bright layer of neon green underneath with Tokyo nightclub-inspired logos peaking through. The piping between the upper panels and the tongue turns white for some contrast, with more neon green on the inside lining of the pair.
The weathered white midsole adds textured GUCCIMAZE branding repeating around the entire shoe, with the same logo co-branded with Vans hits on the insoles and the outsole. Reflective strips are added vertically on the heel, while classic white laces bring it all together.
