LA-based streetwear label SATOSHI NAKAMOTO may take its name from the famed mysterious creator of Bitcoin, but the brand’s primary focus is not in the world of web3. Sneakerheads should be familiar with SATOSHI NAKAMOTO thanks to a viral collaboration with OTW by Vans, which dropped in limited quantities last year. Nearly a year after the first release, the duo is back to drop a new Black colorway.
The Vans Old Skool 36 is the canvas for SATOSHI NAKAMOTO, with the sneaker getting pearlized and distressed detailing. The typical canvas material found on many Vans sneakers is on the toecap, eyestays, jazz stripe, and heel tab, each covered with a pattern of pearls. The base layer below is rendered in a multi-color felt material that appears to be recycled due to its slight color variations.

SATOSHI NAKAMOTO’s branding is along the tongue and the distressed, dirt-covered laces. Finishing the upper is the extra embroidery around the tongue, midfoot, and toe, leaning into the DIY and punk aesthetic the brand is renowned for. Down below sits a distressed midsole and outsole.
The SATOSHI NAKAMOTO x OTW by Vans Old Skool 36 Black will release on June 20, 2025, through OTW by Vans’ website at 11 AM ET and later via SATOSHI NAKAMOTO’s site. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
