Japanese sneaker retailer mita sneakers has a deep-rooted history in Japan’s sneaker scene. They’ve had their hands in some of the most iconic sneaker collabs to come from the archipelago, and even decades removed from the golden era of mita sneakers’ projects, they’re still pushing new ones. Next up is a project with On Running.
Tackling the On Cloud 6 Coast silhouette, mita sneakers apply a clean black, red, and grey color palette to the sneaker. The model’s two-way design is still present, allowing you to wear it like traditional footwear or to push the heel down to make it a slip-on. Speed-lacing allows quick adjustments on the fly, while the breathable mesh base provides optimal airflow.
Co-branded details for mita sneakers and On are found on the insole, which features logos for both labels and the Japanese retailer’s signature touch — a chainlink fence graphic. Another detail added by mita is found on the lateral heel with the coordinates 35.6586° N 139.7454° E, which leads to one of Japan’s most iconic landmarks, the Tokyo Tower. Finishing the sneaker is the On Cloud-cushioned foam midsole and a tonal outsole.
The mita sneakers x On Cloud 6 Coast will release on May 31, 2025, through mita sneakers online and in-store. A global release will occur on June 5, 2025, through On and select retailers.
