No colorway across Nike’s sneakers catalog is as iconic as the Nike Cortez’s Forrest Gump makeup. The pair featured in the film starring Tom Hanks as the titular character was a standard GR white, red, and blue colorway that has gone down in history thanks to the movie. Since then, it’s become a staple on various Nike models that recreate the look of the Cortez. Following the recent re-release of the original Cortez colorway and a recreation on Devin Booker’s Nike Book 1, Nike is bringing the Forrest Gump color palette to one of its hottest new silhouettes — the Nike Pegasus Premium.
First launched in the Airscape colorway in January of this year, the Pegasus Premium has been a hit as a performance sneaker that can crossover into the lifestyle segment. Once again leaning into this lifestyle category, the Peg Premium is dressed in a primarily white color palette across its circular knit upper, separated between two woven patterns by a fused TPU film. A red Swoosh, redone to more closely resemble the logo on the Cortez, bursts off the lateral midfoot and the medial collar.

Coordinates on the medial side of the ripstop nylon eyelets lead to a storefront in Santa Monica, California, the original Blue Ribbon Sports retail store. Below sits a stacked sole unit featuring a full-length ZoomX foam, a full-length molded Zoom Air unit, and ReactX foam in the heel. To mimic the Cortez’s sole unit, the ReactX portion in the heel comes with blue detailing on the edge. Finishing the sneaker is the cream white rubber outsole.
The Nike Pegasus Premium Forrest Gump W will release in September 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is $220.
