Nike has spread its wings to every aspect of sports and beyond, from mind-altering recovery shoes to high-fashion collaborations and everything in between. But at the end of the day, the Oregon-based brand is a running shoe company, and Beaverton has never strayed too far from the track. The performance-obsessed engineers at The Swoosh have been steadily perfecting the science of running sneakers, and this year, the Pegasus Premium emerged as a sublime mix of cushion, support, and style.
The latest colorway of the Peg Premium is a women’s exclusive in Barely Grape, mixing pale purples with sapphire blue and hot lava red. The dual-mesh upper is designed with two tones of purple, a light lilac on the wide mesh of the toebox and ankle collar, and a deeper, barely grape color on the vertical textured mesh that covers the lower half of the toe and side panels. A steel grey Swoosh breaks up the purple blend, and a deep blue hit in the full-length Air Zoom bubble is accented by a strike of bright red on the heel.
