Jason “White Chocolate” Williams’ Purple Nike Hyperflight PE is Returning this Spring

Few characters in NBA history have a legacy, or nickname, like Jason “White Chocolate” Williams. From his days being dismissed from the University of Florida for smoking too many “left-handed cigarettes,” to bringing AND1 dribbling and passing tricks to NBA courts, Williams brought a showmanship to the league that hasn’t been seen since. With so much swagger in his ball-handling, Williams was also influential in the sneaker game, helping Nike promote the futuristic Hyperflight in the early 2000s.

As we get set for another retro run of the sleek 2001 hoop shoe to celebrate the silhouette’s 25th anniversary, Williams’ Sacramento Kings-colored Hyperflight PE is hitting retail for the first time. This also marks the first time that Nike has released a Hyperflight since 2013. Covered in a full coat of shiny purple patent material across the entire one-piece upper, perforations are added on the medial side and tongue for breathability. Adding more Kings’ colors, the top of the tongue and ankle collar are black leather, with Williams’ 55 jersey number replacing the tongue logo in white. Just like his original PE in 2001, this pair features JWILL text on the heel in white.

More white is added to the mini Swoosh on the lateral side of the toe and to the Alpha Project dots on the midsole. The outsole brings in more black to round out the Sacramento colorway. In addition to the White Chocolate PE colorway, the Hyperflight’s 25th birthday will see the return of black and red retro colorways.
