Women’s fashion has shifted from prioritizing chunky runners and “dad shoes” to “balletcore” as flat-soled minimalist designs have become the go-to for many. We’ve seen brands like adidas and Puma hop on this trend throughout the final parts of 2024 and this year, but now Nike has a new model that leans right into this trend — the Nike Astra Ultra.
Seen in a sleek Triple Black colorway, the Astra Ultra features a suede upper with a wavy linear pattern debossed into the suede to create a curvy midfoot design. An asymmetrical tongue and lacing setup leans slightly to the medial side. The laces are velvet, while the tongue comes in neoprene.

Finishing the upper design are the mini Swoosh details on the lateral and medial toe, the latter done on the rubber that wraps up from the sole unit, and the former done in metallic silver on the toe. Below sits a thin rubber sole unit with a dotted traction pattern near the forefoot and a herringbone traction pattern on the heel.
The Nike Astra Ultra Triple Black W will release in Fall 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is $115.
