Nike got its start on the track, and between basketball, skateboarding, soccer, and every other sport on the planet, The Swoosh has always been rooted firmly in the race. Keeping a strong focus on running shoes throughout the brand’s history, the latest Nike Running supershoe is its best yet, climbing to a new Apex of modern performance.
The Nike Apex Black is the debut colorway from the new silhouette, and after arriving in previews at the end of last month, a new set of official images gives us a closer look at the fastest shoe in Beaverton’s 2027 lineup. Featuring a double-stack of Air Zoom in the forefoot, a massive chunk of newly crafted ZoomX LT foam encases a redesigned carbon fiber Flyplate, all on top of a Flyknit X upper.

On the black colorway of the Apex, Nike’s one-piece Flyknit X upper starts with a black base that almost appears red thanks to the nearly see-through material, with a webbed netting overlay and a massive white Swoosh striking across the lateral side panel over the toe. The stacked black midsole pops with Crimson and Volt dual Air Zoom bubble colors visible on top of each other in the forefoot.
The Nike Apex Black will be released Spring 2027 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $350. For all the latest news and drop info from Nike Running, download the Sole Retriever App.
