Obscure Air Max models have had a cult following for decades, though we’re fortunate that every so often, Nike will dig back into the archives to revive these oft-forgotten sneakers. For 2025, Nike retroed the Air Max Craze, a women’s cross-training Air Max sneaker originally released in 2001 to little fanfare. Following a series of GR releases, the pair is undergoing a collaborative makeover thanks to Marseille FC.
Nike and Marseille are no strangers. Back in 2023, The Swoosh tapped the French football club for a special colorway of the Air Max Plus. Following this is the pictured Air Max Craze, which has its upper redone to feature a semi-transparent ripstop that reveals the wide-spaced mesh base below. This creamy finish is applied to the TPU heel counter and heel pad, the leather tongue, and the interior lining.

A special insole displays Marseille FC’s blue and white crest alongside co-branded logos. The insole of the right shoe actually displays a numbered tag, denoting that the pair is limited to 1,013. Though not explicitly stated by Nike or Marseille, the significance of this number might be tied to the department code for Bouches-du-Rhône, which is 13. Finishing the sneaker is the cream-colored foam midsole featuring Air units in the forefoot and heel and a tonal rubber outsole.
The Marseille FC x Nike Air Max Craze will release in the coming weeks via Nike SNKRS online. The pair will likely be exclusively available in Europe.
