OG releases always drum up excitement in the sneaker world, with Nike being on a tear in this department. Some classic models returned last year, like the Air 180, which launched in its original Ultramarine colorway in May 2024. Another OG colorway from the Air 180s heyday is coming back — the Bluebird rendition.
Initially released in 1991, when the model first hit shelves, the Bluebird rendition of the Air 180 features a simple ‘90s color palette featuring vibrant hues contrasted by a neutral base. White shades land on the felt, suede paneling along the mudguard, eyestays, midfoot, and vamp, while a stark white appears on the mesh base. Pops of blue make their mark on the Swoosh, sockliner, tongue lining, and Nike Air logo on the heel.
Moving toward the tongue, we see a white-on-white combo with the lace set broken up by clear jade on the Air 180 text up top. Another hit of this jade green comes located on the TPU heel counter and surrounds the Air 180 unit in the midsole. Finishing the design is the white foam midsole paired with a black, blue, and jade rubber outsole.
The Nike Air 180 Bluebird will release in April 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $150.
