When it comes to hyped sneakers, one line that comes to mind is NikeCraft. This collaborative effort brings contemporary artist Tom Sachs together with Nike for groundbreaking footwear and apparel. In 2012, the NikeCraft Mars Yard sneaker released. This super limited edition sneaker is very sought after. So much so that in 2017 a follow-up, the Mars Yard 2.0 came and went.
Taking things into overdrive, Tom Sachs unveiled the NikeCraft Mars Yard Overshoe in 2019. This iteration featured a sheared upper that many cut off to reveal the sneaker underneath. Then in 2022, the Nike GPS (General Purpose Shoe) launched. This dad shoe-like sneaker was designed for everyday use. While still limited, the Nike GPS was the most widely available NikeCraft release to date, with more allocations at multiple retailers as more colorways were released.
