Chet Holmgren Rolled Out KD 18 Thunder & Reign PE in NBA Opener Against Durant

KD is the blueprint. Looking at the latest batch of extra-tall wing players making waves in the NBA, it’s not hard to see the influence of Kevin Durant, the league's game-redefining 7-foot MVP. In the NBA’s season opener yesterday, Durant went up against one of his stylistic protoges in Chet Holmgren and the title-defending OKC Thunder, all while Chet was wearing a pair of Player Exclusive KD 18s.

Holmgren put up 28 points in the Thunder’s double-OT victory against Durant and the Rockets in a fresh pair of purple KD 18 Thunder & Reign PEs. Combining royal purple and furry cow print, the Holmgren PE is a royal purple reminder that the Thunder are at the top of the league, with a bonus reminder that OKC is a cow town in the middle of nowhere (just kidding, sort of).

The cow-print faux fur starts on the toe stabilization panels, sits under the lace eyelets, and continues onto the heel panel, while the rest of the upper is decked out in a mix of space purple mesh and leather. Chet’s branding is added to the tongue, with a lightning bolt number 7 and CH popping out at the top of the shoe. Fans of Chet and OKC are in luck; unlike some player edition pairs, this PE is getting a wide release.
