When Wale, who is now reportedly a sneaker free agent, helped unveil the Nike GT Future, we had a feeling the model would get a DMV-inspired colorway eventually. It technically did, early on in the life of the avant-garde performance basketball shoe, that in all honesty functions more as a lifestyle silhouette than a high-end hoop shoe, as Wale dropped a collab colorway. But now, the bright pink GT Future that Wale recently debuted has been revealed to be part of the Unseen Hours pack for the DMV.
The silhouette’s molded synthetic upper with its wavy striations is entirely coated in a single shade of highlighter pink to match the Zoom Hyperflight and GT Cut 1 that are part of the DMV-inspired collection. Accenting hits of black are found on the Swoosh, tongue, lace set, and sockliner, with logos for Virginia and the 703 area code (which covers the northern part of the state) found on the spine of the tongue. On the insole sits a pink map graphic, continuing the theme that is present on other Unseen Hours colorways. Finishing the sneaker are the Unseen Hours logos on the inside of the tongue and the black outsole hosting a full-length Zoom Air Strobel unit, a forefoot Zoom Air unit, and Cushlon 3.0 foam.

Nike has been honoring those who put in the work with the Unseen Hours pack, the first of which focused on the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. That pack included the Nike Ja 3, GT Future in eggplant purple, and Dylan Harper’s Nike GT Cut 1 PE. Expect more Unseen Hours collections to launch later in the year, in addition to this pink pack commemorating the hoops culture in the DMV.
The Nike GT Future Unseen Hours Virginia will be released May 22, 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
