Virtually all basketball players can attest that Kobe Bryant made an impact on their lives, both on and off the court. Devin Booker is fortunate enough to have played against the legend before his retirement, and in 2016, when the Lakers played their final game against the Suns, Bryant gifted a pair of signed Nike Kobe 11s to Devin. Inscribed on the upper alongside Kobe Bryant’s signature was a personal message to Booker: “Be Legendary.” This would later inspire a Nike Kobe 4 PE that Booker would wear in 2021 and a Nike Book 1 PE in 2023. Now, after Devin rocked a Book 2 version of the Be Legendary colorway, the public will have a shot at the pair.
Nike Book 2 Be Legendary Details
Continuing where the Book 1 left off, the Book 2 Be Legendary mimics that iconic Nike Kobe 4 PE with its purple upper and grey midsole. Tumbled leather trims the upper in a lighter purple shade, while a deeper purple hue is used on the ripstop fabric covering the top-half of the upper. Cutting between these two materials and shades is a black patent leather Swoosh. More light purple hue hits the tongue and lace set as well as the reptile-inspired texture on the mesh sockliner.
Unfortunately, there are no call-outs to the “Be Legendary” inscription that Book wrote on his personal pair, but there are standard Book 2 branding details throughout. This includes the “Chapter Two” text written on the spine of the pull tab and “Book” branding on the tongue’s pull tab. Finishing the sneaker is the grey midsole with black speckles and an icy semi-translucent rubber outsole.

The Nike Book 2 Be Legendary will be released Holiday 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $145.
