Before the Chinese New Year, previews of pairs created to commemorate the Year of the Snake appeared across the footwear industry. For Nike, we’ve seen multiple classic models, including the Dunk Low and Air Force 1, joining the party. However, the performance side of The Swoosh has been left out until now as images of the Nike GT Cut 3 Year of the Snake have appeared.
Modeled by Nike athlete and Shanghai Sharks player Ben Li, the silhouette comes with its traditional textile and synthetic upper in a primarily white color scheme. Black details line the eyelets and the toebox paneling, while pops of red appear on the lace loops and pull tab on the tongue. Moving to the midfoot, we see a large black Swoosh with speckled details run back to the heel, resting above logos and designs representing the Chinese New Year on the lateral heel.
On the spine of the heel, we see a debossed Year of the Snake pattern, with another nod to the celebrations found on the golden TPU eyelet. Below, the silhouette features a red ZoomX-cushioned midsole with a wiper blade-inspired traction pattern on the white rubber outsole.
The Nike GT Cut 3 Year of the Snake will release on January 28, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $190.
