Nike began transitioning its inline performance basketball products into the Greater Than series starting in 2021 with the now-iconic Nike GT Cut 1. Though The Swoosh has improved on the sneaker with the GT Cut 3 and now the incremental GT Cut 3 Turbo, hoopers and sneakerheads still have an appreciation for the original model that many still prefer to the more advanced models. Thankfully, the sneaker has returned in retro form, starting with a re-release of the Think Pink colorway in April and quickly followed up by a brand-new White Chrome colorway.
Marking the first all-new colorway for the sneaker in years, the GT Cut 1 White Chrome features the OG build of the GT Cut 1, including the engineered mesh base, neoprene padding on the toe and tongue, and TPU reinforcements on select portions of the upper. Most of the model is dipped in a white hue, with icy blue-ish appearing on the neoprene material. Chrome accents find a home on the Swoosh logos on the toe and midfoot, and the branding on the heel.

Here, we see GT Cut logos on the white neoprene heel tab and “Nike” and “Beyond” text on the spine of the sole unit, all rendered in chrome. Cushioning and tooling remain identical to the original as the midsole and outsole feature React foam, a full-length Air Zoom strobel unit, and a Zoom Air unit in the heel.
The Nike GT Cut 1 White Chrome will release on July 25, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $190.
