As is the case with the early parts of every new year, footwear brands have crafted various releases to celebrate the Lunar New Year. 2025 happens to land on the 6th animal of the 12 zodiacs, that being the Year of the Snake, with various snakeskin and reptilian-themed sneakers being previewed (and released) in the lead-up to the celebrations that begin at the end of the month. A new Air Force 1 Low in a triple white finish is expanding on Nike's wide variety of snake-themed sneakers.
While the color palette on this AF1 remains neutral, the added details and material changes undoubtedly connect this pair to the Year of the Snake celebrations. Traditional white leather is found on the mudguard, midfoot, vamp, and eyestays, keeping things familiar to the classic all-white Air Force 1. However, a scaly knit is added to the lateral toe, midfoot, and heel, while a snakeskin mesh pattern is applied to the toebox, Swoosh, and collar.
Other unique details on this pair are found on the tongue, where a velvet ribbon is used for the lacing setup, and a snakeskin pattern is placed on the tongue below—a custom insole graphic in a tonal white leans into the Chinese New Year aesthetic. The sneaker is finished with a tonal white rubber midsole and clear rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low CNY White will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $135.
