Philly fans are notoriously tough on their sports team’s star players, but LeBron James is already doing his part to ingratiate himself to the Philadelphia faithful. After starting the season at Madison Square Garden by spoiling the Knicks’ ring night celebration, LeBron is looking for his second dub of the season in the 76ers home opener Thursday night, and Nike is doing its best to help.
Following pairs of the Nike Air Force 1 ‘01 made to celebrate the Knicks’ championship run, the Philly pair is the latest city-specific NBA colorway to hit shelves. Marking LeBron’s Philly welcome in classic Sixers colors, the AF1 ‘01 features plush white leather on the toe, lace, and heel panels, with blue filling in the toebox and side panels, and a red Swoosh. A PHL logo with a Swoosh in the middle is added to the lateral heel of the right shoe, with a 215 area code on the left, and a Phila hit in script letters on the heel tab to complete the Brotherly Love colorway.
Philly has been ground zero for sneaker culture lately, due in large part to the four signature shoe superstars on the juggernaut Sixers squad. Recently, we’ve seen Tyrese Maxey debut a signature New Balance in North Philly, Jaylen Brown team up with BAPE for an appearance at Lapstone & Hammer, and, just this week, Nike and the King launched the LeBron 24 a month early at a pop-up inside the Gallery Mall (yeah, we still call it The Gallery over here) along with a 76-pair exclusive in Sixers colors.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low '01 Philly is available now for pre-order through Philly sneaker boutique Lapstone & Hammer, with a pre-order opening on the SNKRS App at 5:30 PM EST Thursday evening, before the Sixers home debut. Nike plans to ship the pairs by February, 2027. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
