LeBron James recently returned to the NBA after a short two-game absence and took the court in his latest signature model with Nike, the LeBron 22. Since its debut in November, the silhouette has appeared in multiple colorways, including two pairs in collaboration with the iconic Hasbro board game Monopoly. The project isn’t finished yet, as a new What The colorway of the Monopoly x LeBron 22 has appeared.
Unlike the Deep Royal Blue colorway of the Monopoly x Nike LeBron 22, this pair aligns more with the original Mr. Mogul pair as it features a canvas construction for its upper. Tie-dye colors are applied throughout the canvas paneling, transitioning between shades of red, pink, green, blue, purple, and orange, which could be interpreted as an homage to the colors of Monopoly money. Moving up, the tongue, sockliner, and lace set all take on a volt green shade that contrasts the multi-color appearance surrounding it and the red jewel tongue label.
Regarding branding, the LeBron 22’s usual Swoosh cut-out on the midfoot remains, separated from the rest of the canvas with an over-stitching detail. At the same time, Monopoly is represented via an added tag near the lateral collar. The sole unit comes with embroidered dice on the medial side, landing opposite the metallic Swoosh on the lateral side. Finishing the design is the blue and pink outsole that helps contain the model’s packed cushioning set-up, which includes a Zoom Turbo unit, Cushlon 2.0 foam, and an Air Zoom unit.
The Monopoly x Nike LeBron 22 What The will release on January 23, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $200.
