As LeBron James’ career shifts into his distinguished role player phase on the Philadelphia 76ers, Nike is reaching into the archive to celebrate one of the most decorated players to grace the hardwood. James has been burdened with expectations even before he graced that Sports Illustrated cover, stamping him as “The Chosen One.” LeBron was such a can’t-miss prospect that Nike made him one of the few athletes to don a signature sneaker before his first game in the league. After nearly two and a half decades of his historic career, one of the rarest Nike Air Zoom Generation PEs is releasing to the public next year.
This Hummer colorway draws from LeBron’s well-investigated love of the H2 Hummer, which already courses through the silhouette from its reflective panels to the tough toe box echoing the grille of the vehicle. The Nike Air Zoom Generation Hummer PE features a black leather upper that covers the entirety of the silhouette. A smooth leather piece stretches from the eyestay to the toe.
The toe box and side panel get a bumpy, textured feel to represent the ruggedness of the Hummer H2. The Cavaliers’ iconic wine and gold highlight the Swoosh on the lateral side with the shade of red trimming the gilded Swoosh. Golden accents pop up elsewhere on the silhouette, including the eyelets, tongue, and sole unit. A reflective mirror unit on the heel wraps up the premium look.
According to House of Heat, the Nike Air Zoom Generation Hummer PE will be released in Summer 2027 via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $190. For all the latest news and release info, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
