Kevin Durant has been hooping at unseen levels since he was a pre-teen, and by the time he was in high school, he was standing out at camps and sneaker brand tournaments across the country. It only makes sense then that Nike’s latest EYBL PE brings it back to KD’s younger days, adding a Nike KD 5 Elite retro to the release calendar for next spring.
The Nike KD 5 Elite EYBL is the latest returning colorway from the KD retro line, joining a long line of EYBL PE heat, and once again the 2013 colorway won’t be exclusive to the best youth hoopers in the country, with a retail release already on the books. 2026 was packed with Kobes, Ja 4s, GT Futures, and a Peach Jam orange KD 19 for the future-forward basketball circuit, so it's nice to see that 2027 is already on pace with the EYBL heat.
Starting with a vivid blue toebox, the retro colorway brings the same Superman gradient from ‘13, switching the back half of the colorway to red, with lime green on the Flywire supports, Swoosh, and glowing midsole. The tongue switches to red mesh, with a neon green KD logo on top and blue laces bringing it all together. Speckled red is added on top of the blue midsole, with EYBL branding on the inside of the tongues.
According to Kicks Finder, the Nike KD 5 Elite EYBL will be released April 22, 2027, through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $190. To keep up with all the latest Nike EYBL PE news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
