Earning a signature shoe is a Herculean feat. With so many factors, it is amazing that athletes can muster the greatness to get a single signature model, much less 19 like Kevin Durant. The Slim Reaper has long been tapped for greatness, earning a signature shoe after his stellar rookie season with the Seattle SuperSonics. Now on the KD 19, Nike and the two-time Finals MVP are still dropping buckets.
Durant is a lover of Nike’s deep archive. For years, he’s been adding elements of retro Nike models to his signature line. His previous model borrows from the Nike Air Terra Humara and the new KD 19 draws its design language from the recently retroed Nike Zoom Hyperflight, one of the staples of the Y2K era of hoops. KD has really been playing into the theming with the handful of monochromatic candy-inspired colorways he’s released so far, and he’s adding to that colorful spectrum with a new KD 19 Blueberry Blast.
The silhouette does its best Violet Beauregarde impression, going fully metallic blue across the molded zig-zag upper and the mini Swoosh on the lateral toe and medial heel. The hue carries onto the ripstop tongue and breathable mesh ankle collar. That same shade spreads to the outsole to complete the look. The metallic colorway and Foamposite-esque upper also draws to mind one of KD’s idols, Penny Hardaway. KD is no stranger to paying homage to Penny, with both the KD 18 and 19 having Orlando Magic-inspired colorways.
The Nike KD 19 Blueberry Blast will be released on July 29, 2026, via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $155. For the latest news and release info, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
