Kevin Durant’s time with The Swoosh has seen the NBA superstar launch 17 different mainline signature sneakers, many of which have earned a place in the brand’s iconic Christmas-themed collections. This has cemented his line as a centerpiece of Nike Basketball’s holiday celebrations over the past decade, and the legacy will continue onto the Nike KD 17. Alongside this KD 17, Nike Basketball has also given Ja Morant, LeBron James, and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s signature models Christmas-themed makeovers.
Taking on an icy-themed color scheme, the KD 17 sees its engineered mesh base coated in a glacier blue shade. Above this, the Air Max Plus-inspired TPU midfoot cage features a gradient pattern transitioning from darker to lighter blue, with the top two eyelets featuring a metallic silver finish. The silver hues extend to the tongue label and Swoosh, the latter surrounded by a cracked ice graphic.
Back on the heel, a white leather panel features Kevin Durant’s name spelled out in cursive font, while the insole contains a KD patch embedded into the insole. Final touches on the upper include tonal laces that match the icy blue mesh and leather tongue and fused TPU reinforcements near the toe. The white and icy blue foam midsole is finishing the design with a clear, semi-translucent rubber outsole.
The Nike KD 17 X-Mas will release on December 19, 2024, through Dick's Sporting Goods online and in-store, while a wider release via Nike and other retailers takes place on the 26th. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $150. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
